Remember the 1990’s and early 2000’s? A more innocent time; one of Nicktoons, butterfly clips, and matching denim outfits for teen pop power couples. A time when young women everywhere shaped their brows into tortured little tadpoles.

It was me. I’m young women.

Now it’s 2019 and I’m in my mid-thirties. My brows have never forgiven me for cutting them down in their prime. Tired of filling in my sparse brows, I started using an inexpensive product in an unusual way…and voila! My brows starting growing back.

My Weird Tip for Sparse Brows

I received a free small tube of Clinique Lash Building primer in a gift promotion. This product is meant to prime lashes for mascara. The Clinique website states that the primer helps “lashes hold onto mascara better with this underneath-and they look fuller. Conditions, too.” I began using the primer as prescribed (and it works great that way too).

Soon I noticed that my lashes felt…stronger. No longer were lashes pulled out upon mascara removal. They even looked fuller. Would this work on my brows?

I started applying the primer to my lashes and brows at night, sleeping with it on, and washing it off in the morning. And, by gum, the sparsest spots (around what used to be the tail of the tadpole) started to fill in with brow hair.

Out of the Mouth of Babes

At the time, I worked at the Clinique counter. One of my coworkers, Ashlee, heard me excitedly telling a customer about my weird tip. Ashlee, a gorgeous redhead with equally gorgeous brows and lashes, vehemently agreed.

“That’s what I do!” she gushed. When the customer and I complimented her brows, Ashlee said that they hadn’t always looked that way. She, too, had used the Clinique Lash Building primer to regrow her sparse brows.

The Clinique Lash Building primer is less than twenty bucks and hypoallergenic. If you’ve got sparse brows, give it a try. There’s nothing left to lose, amiright?
